Jon Bowie

Dr. Bowie is a native of Mobile and a resident of Daphne. He graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from Mississippi State University in 1994. He received his dental degree from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 1998. He received his Resident in Periodontology Certificate from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry and the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in 2001. This residency was three full years of additional training beyond dental school in all aspects of periodontal treatment. Dr. Bowie is Board Certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.

Dr. Bowie had numerous achievements in dental school including selection to Omicron Kappa Upsilon, which is the National Dental Honor Society, American Academy of Periodontology Student Award, and American Academy of Oral Medicine Certificate of Merit.

Dr. Bowie has provided the highest quality dental care as a periodontist for the last 20 years. He started his practice in Fairhope in 2001. In 2009, he expanded his practice to the Mobile location. He continues to serve patients in both offices

Dr. Bowie was the Alabama Liaison for the State and Regional Assembly to the American Academy of Periodontology since 2008-2019. He was the Treasurer for the Alabama Society of Periodontists from 2004-2022. His other professional memberships include: American Dental Association, Alabama Dental Association, and the Mobile Area Dental Society.

In addition, Dr. Bowie is an accomplished local runner. He has won over 50 races including local winner for the Azalea Trail Run and the Senior Bowl Charity Run. He holds state records for his age in 3 distances from two miles to ten miles. He was also the race director for the Holiday Half Marathon from 2005-2020. He is a member of the Port City Pacers and has served on the Board as President. He and his family are parishioners of Christ the King Catholic Church.
